'Oh! I thought it was a restaurant!' I mused online with Michelle Soo, the pioneer of Authentic Nonya Chang.

'Well, you could eat it under our rambutan tree!'

I thought she was joking.

No, she wasn't. My travelling partner and I had one each, on the comfortable wooden furniture set under the rambutan tree. Exactly as she had offered.

And yes! The Authentic Nonya Chang lived up to its name. We were fortumate to have ours - freshly made that morning and freshly boiled. It was still warm when we ate it.

The authentic nonya chang is still super duper fresh on Day 2, having survived two hours in Aeon, three hours on the bus to Kastam, and two more across the Causeway due to an accident. Of course the night over in open air.
